Proposal - Estimate/Quote Build/Maintenance

| To build a Proposal, select from the Menu Tree or the Drop Down Menu, Proposal/Job Cost and then select Proposal Maintenance. The Proposal Maintenance and Selection Table is displayed.

| Proposals can be displayed sorted by any column by clicking with the mouse in which ever column header you wish to use to sort.
|
|
|
| Pressing the Print Proposal button will print a formal quotation. Pressing the Edit Proposal Tasks displays the job or task list for the selected/highlighted Proposal.
|
|
|
To modify an existing selected/highlighted Proposal, press the  button. To add a new Proposal, press the  button. In both cases the Proposal maintenance Form is displayed.

|
| Proposal Maintenance Form: A multi-tab form containing information about the customer, the nature of the Proposal, the results of the proposal, and lists of Jobs/Tasks and Activities required for the Proposal.
|
|
|
| Start with the Proposals For This Customer Tab and proceed through the other tabs filling in information as required.
|
|
|
|
|
|
On the Proposals For This Customer Tab,  a customer and fill in the remaining data. Enter a verbose description of the work to be done. Enter the results of the quotation by selecting the Results field.

|
| Jobs For This Proposal Tab: Displays a listing of the Jobs (tasks) involved in completing the Proposal Job (task).
|
|
|
|
|
|
| To modify a Job/Task, press the button. To enter a new task, press the button. In both cases the Proposal Task Maintenance Form is displayed.
|
|
|
| Jobs/Tasks identify the components or steps to completing the Proposal. The Job Maintenance Form allows you to define the Job Components of the Proposal and their associated products and activities.

| Jobs For This Proposal Tab:
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Enter the job title and estimated labor hours and estimated amounts for labor, materials, and purchases.
|
|
|
| Then enter information in the task description field. The Job/Task Description field is used to enter a verbose description of what is to be completed with this Job/Task.
|
|
|
| Materials For This Job/Task Tab: Displays estimated Materials (products} that will be required for completion of this Job/Task.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Press the button to add products to the list, or press the button to modify an entry. The Proposal Product maintenance Form is displayed
|
|
|
|
|
|
Enter or an item number from inventory, enter the price amount, and then press the  button to complete the entry. Repeat the process for all products required for this Job/Task.
|
|
|
| The Activities for this Job/Task Tab displays activities entered/scheduled for this Job/Task.
|
| NOTE: Activities are things to be done that are not related to the cost of the task.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| To change an activity, press the button. To add an activity, press the button. The Proposal Activity Maintenance Form is displayed.
|
|
|
| The Proposal Activity Maintenance Form is a form with fields for the general information, an extended description, and a result.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Fill in the required data and then select the Extended Description field.
|
| The Extended Description field is used to enter a verbose description for the activity.
|
| The Results field is used to enter any results from the activity.
|
| After filling in the required data and then press the button to complete the entry.
|
| Repeat the process for all of the required Job Activities.
|
|
|
| Activity Maintenance for this Proposal Tab:

|
|
|
