Proposal - Job Maintenance

| Job Maintenance is the process of defining the work to be done and then applying labor, materials, and purchases as expended.
|

|
| From the Menu Tree or the Windows Drop Down menu select Proposal/Job Cost and then select Job Maintenance.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| The Work Order Maintenance Table is displayed.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Press the Change button to modify a work order or the Insert button to add a new work order.
|
|
|
| The Work Order Maintenance Form is displayed.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Enter a unique Work Order Number and then select the customer and date for this work order. Now mark the status as open.
|
|
|
| Enter a general description of the work to be completed.
|
|
|
| The list at the bottom of the screen will display a table listing the jobs for this work order.
|
|

| To add a job to the work order, press the |
|
|
|
|
|
| If not already selected, select the General tab.
|
|
|
| The Work Order Number is pre-set. Enter the Job Number and optionally the estimates.
|
|
|
| NOTE: Job Numbers are decimal fields so that changes etc. can be added to the job.
|
|
|
| Example: Job Number 1 Get necessary permits.
|
| Job Number 1.1 Change permit.
|
|
|
| Enter a description for this job.
|
|
|
| Fill in a verbose description of the work to be completed.
|
|
|
| The list at the bottom displays a table listing the detail transactions applied to the job.
|
|

| Press the |

|
|
| Work Order and Job Number fields are pre-set. Select the type of entry as Labor, Materials, or Purchases. Labor and Materials are self-explanatory. Purchases are materials or services that must be acquired from outside your company.

| If you are entering materials, |

| Finish the form by entering a description, units (quantity), and the unit price.
|
|
|
| An extended description can optionally be added.
|

| To complete the form, press the |

| Control is returned to the Job Detail Table.

|
|
| Repeat this process for all detail and all open jobs.
